Easter (a little early)

Last weekend we celebrated an early Easter, since this weekend is going to be pretty busy ;)

We dyed eggs for the first time, and it went really well--Much better than the image of dyed water spilling everywhere that was in my mind!

Also, the Easter Bunny was kind enough to stop by on Sunday evening!

 Evelyn was serious about finding those eggs, making it tricky to get an action shot!

Dentist Time!

Evelyn took her first trip to the dentist last week! She did a great job. She got to touch all the fun tools and play with the light. She also got to go for a ride in the chair. Can you tell they had Daniel Tiger on the tv??

 After all this, the wonderful hygienist was even able to clean her teeth (as long as she could still see that tv!). 

 She got to pick a new toothbrush, and a toy from the treasure chest. 

The dentist may have noticed that she is still a paci addict (only at bedtime though!)... We knew it needed to go soon. So we explained to Evelyn that pacifiers are for babies who don't have their teeth yet. We also ordered some very enticing bribes to get her to trade the pacifier for... but guess what? That awesome stuff is still in the boxes! That same night--no bribing necessary--she told Daddy at bedtime "the baba makes my teeth crooked!" And she hasn't asked for it since :) 

Sadly, naps have gone to the dogs... But she continues to sleep wonderfully at night. 

Oak Lawn Children's Museum

This week we visited the Oak Lawn Children's Museum for the first time. It's a small space, but they manage to fit in just about everything Evelyn likes!

We had a fun little photo shoot for St. Patrick's Day with Evelyn, Dog, and the shamrock plant :)

My Classes

Evelyn really enjoys her park district classes. Currently we are in both gymnastics and dance--thank goodness because we need some opportunities to move and play since we are stuck inside!

In other exciting news, Evelyn is a rock star when it comes to potty training! Sorry, no videos to accompany that, although she'll be happy to tell you all about it ;)

Up North

We were invited to spend some time at the Johnson family cabin in Moose Lake, MN, about 100 miles north of St. Paul. How could we say no to a chance to visit these cutie pies (even if it would be well below zero every day we were there)???

Most of us spent our time enjoying the great indoors... 

We did have one very brief outdoor adventure. We walked around the lake and Evelyn sampled the Minnesota snow. We were back inside well within 10 minutes.

Auntie Tessa even showed Evelyn how to make her own play doh! (Excuse the evil eye!)

We had a great time, and we thank the Johnsons for hosting us!

Sledding & Snow Park

We have a park with a great hill right in our neighborhood. Kids love sledding, right? 

Well, maybe not so much. It sure looked fun, but apparently the tears started partway down the hill. We couldn't convince her into trying a smaller hill, so we went to the "snow park" instead.
