Lake Geneva
We had a great time in Lake Geneva. We weren't sure if Evelyn would like the beach...
... turns out, she loved it! We had to hold her back to keep her from wandering too far into the water.
We did lots of walking around.
Evelyn took her first boat ride (she spent most of the trip walking around the boat).
We also took advantage of the great kiddie pool at the hotel.
It was a great getaway, and the short drive made it that much better!

Party Time, Part 2
Evelyn finished off her birthday extravaganza with one more party at her Grandma & Papa's house. She gladly shared her birthday celebration with her Uncle Dan's graduation party. It was a beautiful day filled with family, fun, and great food!

Another dessert? |
Evelyn flipped over her cupcake and munched on the bottom half--no interest in the frosting. |

Party Time, Part 1
Evelyn celebrated her birthday with the Nelson family over Memorial Day weekend. She had a great time playing with Colby and Alexandra and opening her gifts.
She had her first taste of chocolate cake.....
...which she promptly threw on the floor (and mashed up any remaining crumbs).
That weekend we also visited friends in Naperville, and Evelyn got her first taste of the kiddie pool. She had a spectacular time splashing herself :)

ONE!
Happy Birthday Evelyn!
How has it been a year already?!?
We began Evelyn's birthday with a few presents...
Then took a trip to the Botanic Garden to enjoy the beautiful weather.
And at home enjoyed some homemade blueberry shortcake...
Evelyn decided that the actual shortcake was edible, anyway. She was not interested in the whipped cream or blueberries. As always, Jax enjoyed cleaning up all of her crumbs.
We love you Evelyn! You've made the last year our best one yet, and we are so lucky to have you. Oh, and could you please stop growing up so fast???
